The UW-Parkside women's basketball team moved to 13-0 overall at home in the DeSimone Gymnasium after a 73-61 victory over Lewis Friday night. The game was originally scheduled for Thursday, but was moved back a day due to the Blizzard of 2011.
The Flyers only led by one point, on two different occasions, in the first half. UW-Parkside jumped to a 38-28 lead at halftime.
Lewis erased a 14-point Ranger lead, making a charge midway through the first half. The visitors tied the game at 45-45 on the strength of three consecutive three-point shots on successive possessions. Parkside then pulled away again, sending the Flyers to a 10-11 overall record and 6-7 in the league.
The Rangers are now 17-5 overall and 11-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Brittany Hogen led all scorers with 20 points. Three others in a Ranger uniform notched double figures including Jadee Rooney with 14 points, Brittany Beyer with 12 and Amy Selk with 11.
The game featured the league's two top rebounders in Selk and Lewis' Jenny Turpel. Selk and Hogen led the Rangers with seven boards. Turpel led her squad with eight.

After back-to-back league byes, the Rangers will return to action Saturday, Feb. 12. The team will take on the Flyers in a rematch in Romeoville, Illinois, at 1:00 p.m.
