Addie Kramer recorded her milestone 1,000th kill on Sunday in the Rangers 3-1 () win over Illinois Springfield. Kramer is the fourth Ranger to notch 1,000 kills since the school moved into Division II. Kramer had a team-high 17 kills, while Caroline Langer added 15 kills and 13 digs as Parkside improved to 8-3 in the GLVC and 10-8 overall.

A banged up Parkside squad took the court today without three of its key members. Courtney Stack and Stacie Bower were each out of action again. Bridget Nickel joined the injured list today but the Rangers were able to come back from the early deficit to get the win.

The Prairie Stars took the first set as they fought off a Parkside rally. UWP scored four straight points to knot the game at 20 but UIS answered with five of the final seven points to take the first. Two kills by Sam Krilich helped set up the clincher by Annie Nottingham.

The second set was a game of runs with Parkside making the final push to even the match. Parkside jumped out to a 7-2 lead, fell behind 9-7, but went on another run to re-take a 17-12 lead. Cassy Marx and Kramer had back-to-back kills to gain momentum.

UIS got it back to one on a couple of occasions but Cassy Marx finished two straight points to claim the set.
The third set was tight throughout with the Prairie Stars holding a slight lead for the majority of the game. In fact, UIS had a 24-22 cushion with a chance to take a 2-1 lead in the match before Cayla Flood took over.

She started the rally with a sneaky tip for a kill, trimming the lead to one. Then the stellar server ripped off three straight service aces to steal the win and control of the match for Parkside.

Flood's five aces gave her 31 on the season and 85 for her career. Despite being just a sophomore she has already moved into third place on the school's Division II record list for aces.

In the final set, Parkside appeared to be in control as they took a 19-14 late in the set. The Prairie Stars fought back quickly to tie it at 21 and add some tension before the Rangers closed it out.

Kramer and Brooke Schowalter started with a block to take back the lead. Kramer then finished things off with a pair of kills for the 25-23 win.

Parkside will take a week off from conference play as they currently sit two back of first place Indianapolis. They have a four game cushion on clinching a GLVC Tournament berth. The team will play a non-conference match Wednesday at Saint Xavier (Ill.) before taking part in the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Tournament next weekend.
