Hawks soar in Quincy

The previous meeting saw then 16-0 Quincy escape the DeSimone Gymnasium with an overtime victory. This time it was all Hawks, as the team topped the Ranger men's basketball team, 85-59, in Quincy Monday night.

Quincy led 41-31 at halftime and led by as many as 30 in the second half in front of 1,482 in the Pepsi Arena.

A big key to the Hawk win was under the basket. Quincy out-rebounded the Rangers 47-25 and pulled down a 21 offensive rebounds. The extra possessions translated to 70 total shots from the floor, compared to 52 for UWP.

The shooting percentages were similar with the Hawks making good on 47 percent of their shots and the Rangers, 42 percent.

Tyler Burke came off the bench for the Hawks and drained seven three-point shots in eight attempts for 21 points. 

Zach Blesich and Jamere Dismukes came off the pines to tally 13 and 12 points respectively for the Rangers.

Next up for Parkside is a pair of home games to close the regular season, starting with Saint Joseph's Thursday, Feb. 18, at 7:30 p.m.
