The Rangers shot just 32 percent and fell at Missouri S&T, 90-64. After a victory at Maryville two days earlier, the team ended up splitting the two-game road trip in the Show Me state.
The game in Rolla, Missouri, Saturday afternoon, saw a 16-13 S&T lead expand to 24-13 just 10 minutes into the game, thanks to an 8-0 Miner run. The score was pushed to 44-27 at halftime.
The Rangers made a couple of runs at the Miners in the second half, only to be turned back.
Parkside took a 20-point deficit down to 13 at 51-38 with 14 minutes to go. Another point swing in the teens took place before the Miners pulled away. The lead was 31 at its greatest at 90-59 with 2:18 to play. The Rangers then scored the last five points of the game.
Bryon Bundy and Mike Malat paced S&T by scoring 20 and 18 points respectively. Adam Knollmeyer logged a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds as did teammate A.J. Mandani with 15 and 13.
Jamere Dismukes and
Grant Johnson had 14 points apiece for Parkside.
The Rangers shot just 32 percent for the game and were out-rebounded 51-40. For the second game in a row, the opposition got off 75 shots from the floor.
Missouri S&T picked up its second Great Lakes Valley Conference win of the season versus nine losses and is now 6-13 overall. The Rangers are 8-12 overall and 3-8 in league play.
Next up for the Rangers is a match against undefeated Southern Indiana which will put its 17-0 record on the line in the DeSimone Gymnasium Thursday, Jan. 28, at 7:30 p.m.
