The Drury men's basketball team flexed its muscles in the DeSimone Gymnasium as it posted an 86-67 victory over the Rangers Thursday night. Drury is ranked No. 18 in the nation.
The loss drops the Ranger record to 6-10 overall and 1-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Powerful Drury vaulted to 12-3 overall and 5-1 in the GLVC.
Grant Johnson led the Rangers with 25 points. He added three assists, two rebounds and a blocked shot to his statline.
Jeremy Saffold logged 12 points including a one-handed throw-down. Sam Katula came off the bench to add 10.
Drury shot 44 percent, while the Rangers were limited to 39 percent. Drury was solid at the stripe, making good on 22 of 24 shots.
The Rangers will travel to Northern Kentucky for a game with the Norse in the 9,200-seat Bank of Kentucky Center Saturday at 2:15 CST. The team is back at home Monday, Jan. 18 against Quincy with a 7:30 p.m. start.
