Powerful Panthers too much to tame

The Rangers led 2-0, 1 minute into a Great Lakes Valley Conference men's basketball game in Owensboro, Kentucky, Saturday afternoon. It was all uphill for the Kentucky Wesleyan College Panthers from there as they raced to a 107-80 win over the Rangers.

Kentucky Wesleyan's  lead eclipsed the 40-point mark in the second half. The score stood at 58-28 at intermission.

T.J. Smith scored 40 points in leading the Panthers to it 15th win of the season versus 5 losses. UW-Parkside fell to 6-15.

LaVontay Fenderson added to his nation-leading scoring average by pouring in 34 points for Parkside. He made good on seven three-point shots in 11 attempts.

UW-Parkside scored 52 points in the second half of play.

The Rangers return home Thursday, Feb. 14. vs. Saint Joseph's College.
