Fenderson's 38 leads Parkside to victory in season finale

LaVontay Fenderson closed his UW-Parkside career in style, scoring 38 points in leading the Rangers to a 92-83 win at Indianapolis.

Fenderson ended up with 1818 points in his collegiate career, second at UW-Parkside only to former NBA player Abdul Jeelani (formerly known as Gary Cole). Dave Keane, another five-year senior, went out a winner. He scored 5 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and added 3 assists.

DaMarcus Bell capped a stellar one-year campaign as a Ranger player, leading the Great Lakes Valley Conference in rebounding. He closed at Indy with 19 points and 12 rebounds before fouling out. He added 3 blocked shots to his impressive stat line.

Marcus Carter, who came to the Rangers for one year as a Division I transfer, pulled down 3 rebounds and scored 2 points in his final collegiate game. 

The Rangers led, 47-40 at halftime. The team forged their way into the lead after trailing 12-3 early. UW-Parkside never relinquished the lead in the second half, although the Greyhounds came within one with 4 minutes left.

UW-Parkside ended the season with a 7-20 record. The team was 3-15 in the GLVC. Indianapolis ended with a 9-18 record and 4-14 in league play.
