Flyers edge Rangers

LaVontay Fenderson

Box Score

When DaMarcus Bell fouled out with 2:13 to play, the Ranger cause was hampered in a game versus Lewis in the DeSimone Gymnasium Thursday night. This expulsion was compounded because Craig Cunningham had already fouled out.

The Rangers lost their three-point lead with 133 ticks left on the clock and fell to the Flyers, 84-78.

Brandon Dagens crushed the Rangers late. His steal and layup put the Flyers on top for good, 78-76. LaVontay Fenderson tied the game up with a hoop underneath, but that was to be Parkside's last points.

Dagens scored another field goal and two free throws to seal the Flyer victory.

Fenderson, the nation's leading scorer, came up with 25 points to lead the Rangers. Dave Keane chipped in 15 points. Bell added 13.

The game marked the last home game for seniors Fenderson, Keane, Marcus Carter and Bell.

The Rangers have one more game left, at Indianapolis, Saturday, Feb. 26, at 2:15 CST. You can hear the game live on WRJN 1400AM or on the internet at: www.gatewaysportsweb.org

The team is now 6-20 overall and 2-15 in league play. Lewis is 16-10 overall and 10-7 in league play.
