It must have been quite a halftime speech and/or adjustment. Leading by only a precarious point at halftime, the UW-Parkside women's basketball team left homestanding Olivet Nazarene in their wake in a 93-68 victory in Bourbonnais, Illinois, Tuesday evening.
The win by the Rangers was their seventh in a row and lifted the squad to a stellar 9-1 record. Olivet Nazarene, an NAIA school from the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference, dropped to 5-7.
The Rangers pulled down a stunning 67 rebounds, compared to 45 for the home team. The shooting percentages were doubled in favor of the visitors. Parkside shot 50 percent from the floor compared to 25 percent for the Tigers.
Brittany Beyer starred in the game for the Rangers. She scored a career-high 30 points to go with 13 rebounds.
Amy Selk came off the bench to notch her first career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
The Rangers will host Indiana University Northwest Tuesday, Dec. 29, at 5:00 p.m.
