A pair of Rangers earned all-conference honors in women's basketball. The first and second team have five players each and the third team houses 11 players. The voting is done by the Great Lakes Valley Conference's 14 head coaches.
UW-Parkside's Kayla Ming (Grayslake, Ill./Grayslake) made the second team and Amanda Gibson (Boulder Junction, Wis./Lakeland) was a third team selection.
Ming, a senior, set a school record for most three-pointers made (77) and attempted (203). She tied the school record (Carrie Schieve) for most free throws made in a game (14) and equaled the record for best free throw percentage in a game (14-14). Her season free throw percentage of .878 was second in the conference. Ming averaged 17.9 points per game, which ranked fourth in the GLVC. Ming was the minutes played leader in the league (35.93 minutes per game).
Gibson, a freshman, shattered the UW-Parkside record for best three-point field goal percentage at .427 (38-89). The proficient outside shooting mark ranked second in the league. The previous record was held by Jamie Nebel (.376). Gibson was second in the GLVC in assists, dishing out 5.04 per contest.
The GLVC Player of the Year was Molly Carter of Drury. Steve Harold of Drury was the league's Coach of the Year and Samantha Meissel of Indianapolis was tabbed the Freshman of the Year.
