All but one of the 14 players scored and five players scored in double digits as the UW-Parkside men's basketball team disposed of Illinois Tech, 97-51. The non-conference game was played at the DeSimone Gymnasium Wednesday night.
UW-Parkside jumped out to a 16-2 lead in the first 5 minutes of play. The lead was extended to 47-24 at halftime. The Rangers started the second half the same as they did the first, with a 16-2 run.
Craig Cunningham came off the bench to score 16 points, leading the way for the Rangers. LaVontay Fenderson and Dave Keane each scored 15 points. Kyle Clark added 11 points and #D.J. Dantzler# chipped in 10.
The Rangers shot 52 percent for the game. Illinois Tech shot 38 percent from the floor.
UW-Parkside out-rebounded the Scarlet Hawks, 40-32.
Wes Klockowski led Illinois Tech with 13 points.
The win moved UW-Parkside's record to 5-2. Illinois Tech fell to 4-12.
Next up for the Rangers is a date with Saginaw Valley State Friday, Dec. 21. The game will be played at the DeSimone Gymnasium starting at 7 p.m.
