Coach Mark Olsen stepped down as the head men's golf coach in May of 2019 after serving 17 seasons at the helm of the Rangers' golf program, and currently serves as a volunteer assistant coach.
Olsen is well-known in the local golf community and has been able to draw on that network to engender support for the improving Ranger program. Olsen is an amateur who currently carries an eight handicap and has considerable experience in golf instruction. He has directed numerous clinics for adults and juniors over the past few decades.
Additionally, Olsen's experience as a successful high school golf coach has helped him to land numerous top recruits in his tenure. In 2005, Olsen was selected as the GLVC Coach of the Year, after leading the Rangers to the conference championship.
