Micaela Encarnacion joined Parkside Athletics as the Volleyball Graduate Assistant Coach on August 1, 2022.
A native of Hoffman Estates, Ill., Encarnacion graduated from Schaumburg (Ill.) High School in 2017, where she played volleyball and softball for four years. She continued as a dual-sport athlete at Ripon College, playing volleyball and softball and earning Bachelor’s Degrees in Elementary Education and Exercise Science in 2021 and then Sports Management in 2022.
While at Ripon, Encarnacion left her mark in both the volleyball and softball record books. As a DS/Libero, she is ranked second for Career Service Aces, sixth for Digs and is tied for fifth for Individual Single Match Digs and tied for sixth for Service Aces. As an outfielder and leadoff batter for the Red Hawks softball team, Encarnacion ranks first in At Bats, third for both Hits and Doubles and fifth for Runs Scored and Triples. She was named first team All-Midwest Conference in 2021.
Encarnacion was chosen as one of 45 Division III student-athletes to participate in the Student Immersion Program at the 2022 NCAA Convention. She was selected as one of 200 Division 1, Division II and Division III student-athletes to attend the NCAA Career in Sports Forum in June 2022.
