Zac Charbonneau

Zac Charbonneau has been named the head coach of the Parkside baseball program in June 2022.

In year three, Charbonneau reached new heights and once again made history. The team finished 30-21 with a 12-12 GLIAC record. Charbonneau guided the program to the 30-win mark for the first time since 2005. They addiitonally won more GLIAC games in a regular season than they have ever before. Charbonneau saw five of his players earn postseason accolades. For the second straight season, Parkside won the GLIAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year, with Sam Mommer earning the honor. Additionally, both Peter Fusek and Owen Brock earned First Team All-GLIAC. And, Dylan Sayles and Noah Gerritson were Honorable Mention All-GLIAC. 

In his second season at the helm, Charbonneau led the Rangers to an historic season. The team finished 21-30 with a 10-20 GLIAC record. The team accomplished more GLIAC wins then they ever have before, won 20+ games for the first time since 2006, and won their first ever GLIAC regular season series. Charbonneau saw seven of his players earn postseason accolades. Leo Berger highlighted the awards by securing GLIAC Freshman of the Year and First Team All-GLIAC. Additionally, Berger earned Midwest All-Region Second Team. Jude Allen, Peter Fusek, Emanuel Andujar Ferreria, and Kaleb Schulist all were Second Team All-GLIAC. Lastly, Owen Brock and and Jared Heinzen notched Honorable Mention All-GLIAC. 

In his first season with the program, Charbonneau went 13-36. He saw three players make All-GLIAC postseason honors. Max Bruff landed on the First Team All-GLIAC team, and both Andrew Harris and Ryan Brouch were named honorable mentions. The team also got the job done in the classroom. Charbonnaeu had ten players land on the Academic All-GLIAC list, and eight players on the Academic Excellence list. 

Previous to Parkside Charbonneau served as the head coach of Milwaukee Area Technical College for four seasons. During his time at Milwaukee Area Technical College, Charbonneau led his team to an overall record of 78-60-2. This past season, his team was 34-18, including a win over #1 ranked Madison College and the #2 seed in the Region IV postseason tournament.

Additionally, Charbonneau has been the head coach of the Fond Du Lac Dock Spiders of the Northwoods League since the summer of 2017. Charbonneau is in his sixth season as the manager of the Dock Spiders, winning nearly 200 games and claiming two Northwoods League's championships. In 2018, the second-year franchise won the Northwoods League championship. In 2020, in the midst of the COVID pandemic, Charbonneau led the Dock Spiders to winning the WI-IL Pod Championship.

Charbonneau earned his bachelor's degree in fitness and sport from Millikin University in 2012. His experience in coaching also includes time as an assistant coach at Millikin, Roosevelt University, and the College of Lake County and as the manager of the Springfield Sliders.
