 2022 Parkside Athletics Coaching Graduate Assistant Openings 

The graduate assistant baseball coach will report directly to the Baseball Head Coach and will gain experience assisting with all aspects of a Division II baseball program. The ideal candidate will have experience as a student-athlete, manager, and/or coach in a college baseball program. Bachelor’s degree required.

The cross country and track and field coach graduate assistants will report directly to the Cross Country/Track & Field Head Coach
and will gain experience assisting with all aspects of Division II programs. The ideal candidate will have experience as a student-athlete,
manager, and/or coach in a college cross country and track and field program. Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Assist with the facility operations and event management of the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course and Frank Petretti Fieldhouse.

The strength and conditioning graduate assistant will work in conjunction with the Strength and Conditioning Head Coach, with
duties including but not limited to:
  • Assist with designing and executing the sport performance programs for Parkside’s 15 intercollegiate teams, including but not limited to:
    • Design sport performance programs for assigned teams
    • Conduct individual and team workouts
    • Communication with coaching staffs and sports medicine staff
  • Assist in the operations of the strength and conditioning center and other fitness facilities, including:
    • Assist in the scheduling and training of student workers
    • Work on average 10 hours per week at the front desk of the strength and conditioning center during the semester
    • Work on average 20 hours per week at the front desk of the strength and conditioning center during Winterim
  • Must be CSCS or SCCC certification.
The graduate assistant volleyball coach will report directly to the Volleyball Head Coach and will gain experience assisting with all aspects of a Division II volleyball program. The ideal candidate will have experience as a student-athlete, manager, and/or coach in a college volleyball program. Bachelor’s degree required.

 2022 Parkside Athletics Administration/Operations Graduate Assistant Openings 

The eSports/video production graduate assistant will work dually for the Department of Health, Kinesiology, and Sport Management (HKSM) and as a member of the Strategic Communications and Marketing office. The successful candidate will have and interest and previous experience with eSports as well as video production and video editing.

HKSM/eSports
  • Conduct eSports research/feasibility studies in conjunction with HKSM faculty and athletics administration.
  • Conduct eSports tournaments/leagues in conjunction with HKSM and Intramurals.
  • Provide video marketing assistance to promote HKSM undergraduate and graduate programs.
  • Teach HKSM 1-credit activity classes on eSports.
Athletics/Video Production
  • Assist with creation of video content for use on ParksideRangers.com, broadcasts, video boards, and social media platforms.
  • Serve as member of live video production team during home events, assisting with stream on ParksideRangers.com and in-house video feed.

Events and Operations GA (2 POSITIONS)
The events and operations graduate assistants will work in conjunction with the Assistant AD for Events and Operations, with duties including but not limited to assisting with:
  • Coordination of gameday operations for Parkside Athletics home events.
  • Deposits, cash handling, and financial reporting.
  • Fulfilling payment to referees, officials, and gameday staff.
  • Hiring, training, and supervising gameday event staff.
  • Operations of concessions and the Ranger Store, the athletics gameday apparel store.
  • Planning and execution of external rentals
  • Serving as a gameday host for visiting teams and officials.
  • Ticketing operations, including maintaining compliance with NCAA pass list requirements.
The external relations graduate assistants will work in conjunction with the Assistant AD/Advancement and Partnerships and the Athletics Ticketing and Marketing Coordinator, with duties including but not limited to assisting with:
  • Advancement
    • Alumni/donor engagement
    • Parkside Day
    • Ranger Impact Fund
    • Ranger Impact Open and other fundraising events
  • Graphic Design
  • Marketing and Promotions
    • In-game promotions, game script, music, etc.
    • Marketing plans and promotional calendars
    • Ranger Cub Club
  • Parkside Athletics Partners Program
    • Assist with the renewal of existing partners.
    • Create and track existing and new inventory.
    • Create and deliver contracts and invoices to potential and current partners.
    • Ensure fulfillment of all contracts, in collaboration with strategic communications and marketing.
    • Provide consistent communication to corporate partners.
    • Solicit new business and community partners to become members of the corporate partners program.
  • Ticketing
    • Assist with the selling and operations of premium seating.
    • Create and execute ticket plans and promotions for applicable sports, including individual games, season tickets, and group ticket sales.
    • Provide sales, execution, and customer service for group tickets.

Facilities and Operations GA
The facilities and operations graduate assistant will report directly to the Associate AD for Facilities and Capital Projects. This position assists with the day-to-day operations of the equipment/issue room and in all aspects of facility management.
  • Assist with day-to-day equipment/issue room operations, including working assigned hours.
  • Assist with facility set up and takedown for Parkside and external events.
  • Assist with maintenance and upkeep of athletics and recreation facilities.
  • Assist with scheduling of facilities for varsity sports competitions and practices, internal and external rentals, intramurals, campus recreation, and University sanctioned events.Coordinate laundry cleaning, distribution, and chemical inventory for all 15 NCAA Division II Varsity teams.
  • Become familiar with Event Management System(EMS) and Microsoft Outlook Calendar.
  • Serve as the facility supervisor for Sports & Activity Center, assigned NCAA Varsity home contests, and external rentals.
The intramurals and recreation graduate assistants will work in conjunction with the Associate AD/Facilities and Capital Projects, with
duties including but not limited to:
  • Assist in the oversight of campus recreation facilities, including:
    • Facility operations
    • Management of SAC memberships
    • Equipment maintenance and inventory````
  • Facility scheduling
  • Planning and executing intramurals and recreation programming, including:
    • Scheduling and registration of intramurals leagues and tournaments and campus recreation events+ Marketing to the campus community
    • Hiring and supervising student workers
  • Teach HKSM activity class

 2022 Parkside Athletics Internship Openings 

Parkside Athletics Game-Day Event Staff
Work closely with the Assistant AD for Events and Operations and Graduate Assistants in maintaining a high-level athletic event at either the Sports and Activity Center, Wood Road Field, Case Softball Complex, or Simmons Field. As a member of the game day staff, you will assist with the overall game day operation of the following sports; volleyball, soccer, cross-country, track/field, wrestling, basketball, softball, baseball, and any other external events coordinated by Parkside Athletics. Event staff employees are required to properly setup and breakdown for an athletic event. Event staff employees are required to attend brief and debrief meetings before and following the event to obtain more information necessary to job performance. Must have the ability to perform duties outdoors in various weather conditions if necessary. Complete game duties, promotions and projects as assigned by Administrators. Hours include days, nights and weekend and possibly holidays. Willingness to represent Parkside Athletics, the University, and our mission and core values, in a positive manner on and off campus. Athletic Communications Intern
An Athletics Communications Intern is expected to be an enthusiastic, motivated, and hard-working member of the Parkside Athletics staff. This individual will work under the Associate Director of Athletics for Strategic Communications and Marketing while helping with game-day duties including statistics, broadcast, photography. With much preparation needed to run a successful event, interns will also gain experience with office work including writing, website maintenance, graphic design, compiling historical data and other duties as assigned. Sports Marketing and Fan Engagement Intern
The Sports Marketing and Fan Engagement Intern is expected to be an enthusiastic and outgoing individual who is passionate about starting a career in the sports industry. This individual will assist the Sports Marketing and Fan Engagement Graduate Assistant in daily responsibilities involved in enhancing the game day atmosphere at Parkside. Our Athletic Department has an opportunity and responsibility to positively impact our staff, players, fans, and community. As our Marketing and Fan Engagement Intern you will spend time learning valuable skills and contributing to the preparation and execution of all home events including promotions leading up to, during and after home events, in-game promotions and overall fan experience. Corporate Partnerships and Fundraising Intern
The Corporate Partnerships and Fundraising Intern is expected to be an enthusiastic and hard-working individual who is looking to learn more about fundraising, community engagement and working with corporate partners. This individual will assist the Assistant AD for Partnerships & Advancement in all three areas mentioned previously and will assist in day-to-day responsibilities and tasks leading up to fundraising and game day events. This position will provide hands on opportunity for someone who is interested in learning about event planning and the day-to-day operations of a non-profit organization.
