KENOSHA, Wis- The Parkside Rangers return home to De Simone Arena this weekend as they host the eighth annual Hampton Inn Invitational on Friday, September 4, and Saturday, September 5. The two-day event will feature a competitive field, with Parkside welcoming Purdue Northwest, Hillsdale, Jamestown and Nova Southeastern to Kenosha for a full weekend of NCAA Division II volleyball.

The Rangers enter the invitational after posting a 3-1 record at the BritKare/Lady Buff Invitational in Canyon, Texas, highlighted by a five-set victory over No. 19 West Texas A&M. As a team, Parkside currently leads the GLIAC in assists, digs and kills, while ranking sixth nationally in both assists and kills. Following their strong opening weekend, the Rangers are now receiving votes in the latest AVCA Division II Coaches' Poll.

Senior libero Natalie Harris earned GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors following a standout weekend. Across four matches, Harris totaled 104 digs, ranking first in the GLIAC and fifth in NCAA Division II. Her 5.78 digs per set also led the conference and ranked seventh nationally. Harris added 13 assists and four service aces to her impressive weekend totals.

Offensively, Avary Polavin and Sierra Kilbourn rank second and third, respectively, in the GLIAC in total kills, recording 61 and 59 kills. Maia Olson has also made an impact at the net, ranking third in the conference in total blocks with 17.

The Rangers open the Hampton Inn Invitational on Friday afternoon with their home debut against the University of Jamestown, followed by Nova Southeastern University. On Saturday, the Rangers will face Hillsdale College. 

Scouting Jamestown:
The Jimmies enter the Hampton Inn Invitational with a perfect 4-0 record after competing at the Hardrocker Volleyball Tournament. Libero Sophie Ketterling has anchored Jamestown's defense, leading the team with 82 digs while averaging 5.68 digs per set, which ranks sixth nationally in NCAA Division II. Her strong start to the season earned her NSIC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Offensively, Caroline Putz leads the Jimmies with 38 kills, averaging 2.71 kills per set. She has also contributed 11 blocks through the team's first four matches. Friday's matchup will mark the first meeting between Parkside and Jamestown
 
Scouting Nova Southeastern:
Nova Southeastern opened the 2026 season at the Shark Invitational, compiling a perfect 4-0 record and earning votes in the latest AVCA Division II Coaches' Poll. Setter Abbie Roth was named SSC Setter of the Week after recording 160 assists, averaging 11.43 assists per set, along with 53 digs, nine kills, five service aces and four blocks. Her 11.43 assists per set currently rank eighth nationally in NCAA Division II.

Offensively, Caiden Largent leads the Sharks with 55 kills, averaging 3.93 kills per set. She has also added seven blocks and leads Nova Southeastern in scoring with 64 points. Saturday's matchup will mark the first meeting between Parkside and Nova Southeastern.
 
Scouting Hillsdale:
Hillsdale opened the 2026 season with a 3-0 record at the WSU Warrior Invite, including a victory over host Wayne State, which is receiving votes in the latest AVCA Division II Coaches' Poll. The Chargers' strong start earned them votes in the latest national poll.

Ellie Fles was named the G-MAC North Division Player of the Week after leading Hillsdale with 41 kills, averaging 3.73 kills per set. She also recorded 34 digs (3.09 per set) and averaged 0.64 blocks per set.

Molly Kennedy also made an impact at the net, totaling 17 blocks through three matches for an average of 1.55 blocks per set, which leads the G-MAC. Grace Drake has guided the Chargers' offense with 114 assists, averaging 10.36 assists per set, ranking second in the conference in both categories.

Parkside last faced Hillsdale during the 2024 season, with the Chargers earning a 3-1 victory.
