KENOSHA, Wis. — The Parkside men's soccer team will conclude a challenging non-conference slate this week with two matches. Parkside opens the week at home Thursday against Maryville University before hitting the road for the first time this season to face Thomas More University on Sunday.

The Rangers enter the week 1-1 through the first two matches of the 2026 season. Parkside opened the year with a 2-1 victory over Quincy at Wood Road Field before dropping a 3-0 decision to Lewis on Monday night.

Keven Sosa and Angel Luevano each found the back of the net in the season-opening victory over Quincy. Mateus Pass has played all 180 minutes in goal for the Rangers, making 11 saves through the first two matches, including 10 against Lewis on Monday night.

Following this week's two non-conference tests, Parkside will prepare to open GLIAC play on Sept. 17 against Roosevelt University.

SCOUTING MARYVILLE:
Maryville University enters the week with a 1-1 record. The Saints opened the 2026 season with a 2-0 victory over Southern Nazarene University on Thursday before falling 3-1 to No. 6 Rogers State on Saturday. Three different Saints scored over the opening weekend, with Jan Fulnek, Yayo Mutombo and Ahmed Suljagic each finding the back of the net.

Maryville received votes in the preseason NCAA Division II Coaches Poll after finishing 12-6-3 in 2025. The Saints captured their fourth GLVC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the eighth consecutive season. Maryville was also picked third in the GLVC Preseason Coaches Poll, receiving two first-place votes.

Parkside and Maryville are familiar foes, having met 14 times since 2009. The all-time series is even at 7-7. Parkside controlled the early portion of the series, but Maryville has won each of the last five meetings, including two matchups in the NCAA Tournament.

SCOUTING THOMAS MOORE:
Thomas More enters the week 1-1 overall. The Saints opened the season with a 4-0 victory over Shawnee State University before dropping a 3-2 decision to Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday afternoon.

Like Parkside, Thomas More will play twice this week. The Saints travel to Pittsburgh on Wednesday to face Point Park University before returning home to host the Rangers on Sunday in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.

Thomas More was picked sixth in the 11-team G-MAC Preseason Coaches Poll after finishing 9-7-3 in 2025. Five different Saints have scored through the opening two matches, led by Anwar Benkandil with two goals, including the game-winner against Shawnee State.

Sunday's matchup will mark the first-ever meeting between Parkside and Thomas More.
