KENOSHA, Wis. — (RV) Parkside volleyball continues Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) action this week, hosting Purdue Northwest on Friday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. before welcoming No. 17 Grand Valley State to De Simone Arena on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 3 p.m.

Parkside enters the weekend with a 7-2 overall record after earning a sweep over Lake Superior State last weekend and falling in a closely contested five-set match to No. 1 Ferris State.

As a team, the Rangers rank first in the GLIAC in digs per set at 16.30 and second in the conference in total digs with 603. Parkside also ranks third in the GLIAC in assists per set at 12.52 and third in total assists with 464.

Senior libero Natalie Harris continues to lead the Rangers defensively, ranking first in the GLIAC in both digs per set and total digs. Harris has recorded 208 digs on the season while averaging 5.62 digs per set, which ranks seventh nationally.

Offensively, Avary Polavin leads Parkside with 126 kills, ranking fourth in the GLIAC while averaging 3.50 kills per set. Maia Olson continues to make an impact at the net, recording 32 blocks on the season to rank third in the GLIAC. Olson has also tallied 65 kills while hitting .295 on the year. Sierra Kilbourn and Monica Lukasiewicz have provided a consistent presence offensively, leading the Rangers in hitting percentage at .328 and .326, respectively.

Scouting Purdue Northwest:

Purdue Northwest enters the weekend with a 2-7 overall record, with its two victories coming against the University of Illinois Springfield and (RV) Nova Southeastern.

As a team, the Lions are hitting .174 on the season. Kennedy Rowzee has been a force at the net, ranking third in the GLIAC in blocks per set at 1.00 and sixth in the conference with 30 total blocks.

Anika Huelskamp leads the Lions offensively with 69 kills on the season. Addison Smith has recorded 67 digs while also leading Purdue Northwest in assists with 143. Smith is averaging 4.77 assists per set.

Parkside holds a 17-1 record over Purdue Northwest, with the Rangers taking the most recent matchup last season 3-1. 

Scouting No. 17 Grand Valley: 

No. 17 Grand Valley State enters the weekend matchup with an 8-2 overall record. The Lakers have earned key victories over No. 22 Bentley, No. 6 Barry and No. 18 Lynn this season.

As a team, Grand Valley State leads the GLIAC in total service aces with 65. The Lakers rank second in the conference in hitting percentage at .304, kills per set at 13.95 and opponent hitting percentage at .135. Grand Valley has also produced 516 total kills, ranking third in the GLIAC.

Finley Arp ranks second in the GLIAC in both total service aces with 17 and aces per set at 0.50. Arp also leads the Lakers with 92 kills while adding 87 digs and 10 blocks on the season.Gabby Owlet leads Grand Valley State with 351 assists, averaging 9.75 assists per set. Lexi Armstrong has recorded a team-high 168 digs for the Lakers.

Historically, Parkside is 2-12 against the Grand Valley, with the Lakers taking the most recent matchup in straight sets.
