KENOSHA, Wis. — (RV) Parkside volleyball opens GLIAC competition this weekend, traveling to Big Rapids, Michigan, to take on No. 1 Ferris State on Friday, Sept. 11, at 5 p.m. CT before returning home to De Simone Arena on Saturday, Sept. 12, to face Lake Superior State at 4 p.m. CT.

Parkside enters the weekend with a 6-1 record and ranks third in the GLIAC in assists per set (12.76), digs per set (16.34) and total team digs (474). Senior libero
Natalie Harris has anchored the Rangers' defensive effort, earning GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for two consecutive weeks. Harris leads the conference with 168 total digs, ranking ninth in NCAA Division II, while her 5.79 digs per set rank sixth nationally. She has also recorded five service aces on the season.
Offensively,
Avary Polavin leads the Rangers with 104 kills, ranking fourth in the GLIAC while averaging 3.59 kills per set.
Sierra Kilbourn has posted a .337 hitting percentage on the season with 92 kills, while
Maia Olson has made an impact at the net with 27 total blocks, ranking third in the GLIAC and averaging 0.93 blocks per set.
Scouting Ferris State:
Ferris State enters the matchup with a perfect 9-0 record and has yet to drop a set this season. The Bulldogs lead the GLIAC in several statistical categories, including aces per set (1.89), assists per set (13.44), hitting percentage (.358), kills per set (15.19) and total service aces (51).
Gabby Piazza has paced the Bulldogs' offense, earning GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for two consecutive weeks. Piazza leads the conference in kills per set (4.58) and points per set (5.19). On the season, she has recorded 119 kills while hitting .351.
Hayley Wegener leads the GLIAC and ranks fourth in all of NCAA Division II in assists per set at 11.22. She has recorded 303 total assists, which ranks third in the GLIAC and 20th nationally.
The Rangers hold a 2-17 all-time record against Ferris State, with the Bulldogs taking the most recent matchup last season in a 3-0 sweep.
Scouting Lake Superior State:
Following Friday's matchup, Parkside returns home to De Simone Arena on Saturday to take on Lake Superior State. The Lakers enter the weekend with a 3-5 record and rank sixth in the GLIAC in aces per set at 1.46.
Elisa Rizzoli leads Lake Superior State with 76 total kills and has also recorded 86 digs. She averages 3.44 digs per set and 3.04 kills per set. Morgan Deming has made an impact defensively, ranking sixth in the GLIAC with 24 total blocks while averaging 0.86 blocks per set.
Parkside holds a 10-5 all-time record against the Lakers. In the most recent meeting, the Rangers earned a 3-0 sweep.
