Parkside Falls in Saturday Twinbill Against Roosevelt

KENOSHA, Wis. – Parkside dropped both games of Saturday's doubleheader to Roosevelt at Historic Simmons Field, falling 6–2 in game one before a 6–5, 12-inning battle in game two.

Game 1
After two scoreless innings, Roosevelt struck first in the third, using RBI singles from Alejandro Muunoz and CJ Chalk to take a 2–0 lead. The Lakers added another in the fourth on a solo home run from Cooper Ohlson, extending the advantage to 3–0.

Roosevelt broke things open in the fifth inning. Following a walk and stolen base, Kyle Jannenga delivered a two-RBI triple to push the lead to 5–0.

Parkside responded in the bottom half of the inning. Mason Mitacek scored on a throwing error before Dylan Sayles drove in a run with an infield single to cut the deficit to 5–2. The Rangers put together a rally and loaded the bases but were unable to come away with more damage.

The Lakers added an insurance run in the seventh, capitalizing on a defensive miscue to make it 6–2 and seal the game-one victory.

Liam Neely earned the win for Roosevelt, allowing two runs over five innings while striking out five. Jace Dominic closed the door with two scoreless innings to record the save. Keegan Waters was charged with the loss for Parkside after allowing five runs in five innings of work.

Offensively, Parkside was led by Noah Goddard and Dylan Sayles with two hits apiece, while Benjamin Loyd added a hit, a run scored, and a stolen base.

Game 2
The Rangers jumped out early, scoring once in the second when Jackson Lindquist crossed the plate on a wild pitch before adding two more in the third. Angel Rades led off with a double, Benjamin Loyd followed with a single, Dylan Sayles drove in a run with a sacrifice bunt, and Josh Wicker added an RBI single to give Parkside a 3–0 advantage.

Roosevelt answered in the sixth, cutting into the lead with a two-run home run from Tyler Ruete before taking advantage of defensive miscues to surge ahead 4–3. The Lakers added another run in the seventh, but Parkside responded quickly as Sayles doubled and Lindquist brought home a run with a sacrifice fly to make it 5–4.

In the bottom of the eighth, Nolan Maciejewski delivered a milestone moment, crushing the first collegiate home run of his career to deep right field to tie the game at 5–5 and ignite the Rangers' comeback.

Parkside threatened to win it in the ninth after loading the bases with one out, but Roosevelt escaped the jam and both teams remained deadlocked until the 12th inning.

Roosevelt capitalized on a defensive error before Alejandro Muunoz delivered the go-ahead RBI single, which proved to be the difference.

Roosevelt reliever Kevin Schroer closed out the bottom half to secure the extra-inning win.

Despite the loss, Parkside showed resilience throughout, highlighted by Grube's shutdown relief outing and Maciejewski's milestone homer. Offensively, Rades, Wicker, and Lindquist each recorded two hits, while Sayles reached base three times.
