Rangers Come Up Short Against St. Cloud State Huskies in NSIC Dual

KENOSHA, Wis. – No. 6 Parkside fell to No.13 St. Cloud by a score of  25–15 in NSIC dual action on Saturday. The Rangers were led by wins from No. 5 Shane Corrigan, No. 2 Jalen Spuhler, No. 7 Brody Hemauer, and No. 3 Dajun Johnson.
 
The dual started at 285 pounds, Cooper Caraway lost to Zach Glazier by a 21-5 tech fall at 5:20, 5-0 Huskies.
 
At 125 pounds, No. 5 Shane Corrigan earned a 3–0 decision win over Benjamin Aranda. Corrigan scored an escape in the second period, added a penalty point after Aranda was called for stalling twice, and picked up a riding-time point. The victory added three points to the team score, giving the Huskies a 5–3 lead.
 
At 133 pounds, Matthew Chi lost to Dominic Ducato  in a 16-3 major decision, 9-3 Huskies. 
 
Troy Dolphin lost to  Jayce Luna  in the 141 pound bout, bya 18-2 tech fall at 5:25, 14-3 Huskies. 
 
No. 2 Jalen Spuhler won by disqualification over Vance Barz. Spuhler had a takedown in the first period and earned a penalty point after Barz was called for stalling twice. In the second period, Spuhler recorded an escape, another takedown, and three more penalty points from additional stalling calls. He added his third takedown in the final period before Barz received a fifth stalling warning, which led to the disqualification. The win added six points to the team score, giving the Huskies a 14–9 lead.
 
No.4 Easton Worachek lost to No.2 Joel Jesuroga in a 9-1 major decision, 18-9 Huskies. 
 
No. 7 Brody Hemauer earned an 8–1 decision win over No. 14 Derek Johnson. In the first period, Hemauer recorded a takedown for three points. He added an escape and his second takedown of the bout in the second period, then picked up a riding-time point in the third. The win added three points to the team total, giving the Huskies an 18–12 lead.
 
No. 3 Dajun Johnson earned an overtime tiebreaker win over No. 11 Bryce Dagel. Dagel scored an escape in the second period, but Johnson tied the match in the third with an escape of his own. In the third overtime, Johnson sealed the win with a three-point takedown. The victory added three points to the team total, cutting the Huskies' lead to 18–15.
 
Lowell Arnold lost to No.2 Cole Glazier in a 14-2 major decision, 22-15 Huskies.
 
No.13 Jordan Blanchard lost to Tyson Meyer in an 5-1 decision, 25-15 Huskies. 
 
No. 6 Parkside moves to 12– 4 overall and 7–3 in NSIC action this season. The Rangers will now turn their attention to the NCAA Super Region V Championships, set for Saturday, February 28, in Marshall, Minn., with competition beginning at 9:00 a.m.
