10/28/2026 10:37:00 AM

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside women's soccer team will close out the 2026 regular season on the road this week. The Rangers open the week Thursday in Arlington Heights, Illinois to take on Roosevelt University. Parkside then will close the regular season portion of the schedule in Hammond, Indiana against Purdue Northwest on Saturday.

The Rangers come into the final week of the regular season 7-5-4 overall and 5-4-3 in the GLIAC after posting two draws last week. Parkside currently is sixth in the GLIAC standings with 18 points, but they sit just two points behind Davenport and Saginaw Valley State who are tied for third in the standings. The top four teams in the standings will host the GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals next week. Parkside has already clinched a spot in the tournament which begins on Tuesday, but no seeding has been locked in.

Lindsay Dahlinger and Mary Leininger posted goals for the Rangers last week. The goal for Dahlinger against Northern Michigan was her first of the season, while Leininger's goal was her fourth of the season which came against Michigan Tech.

Junior Ava Rizzitano currently sits third in the GLIAC in scoring this season with seven goals, while Kayden Schmidt leads the GLIAC with three game winning goals. Senior Kate Brown ranks second in the GLIAC this season with seven assists.

Parkside has won three straight against Rosevelt dating back to 2024. Parkside has outscored the Lakers 12-3 during that span, winning twice in Arlington Heights by scores of 4-2 in 2025 and 3-1 in October of 2024. Parkside defeated Roosevelt 5-0 in Kenosha back in September.

The Rangers have won four straight over Purdue Northwest and have not conceded a goal to the Lions in the last three matches. Parkside has outscored Purdue Northwest 6-0 during that span.

SCOUTING ROOSEVELT (1-11-4; 1-9-2 GLIAC):
The Lakers come into the final week of the season looking to end the season on a high note after two shutout losses last week to Wayne State and Davenport. Roosevelt has been eliminated from GLIAC Tournament contention.

Roosevelt is led offensively by Bella Perry with three goals and one assist. Dayami Arias and Aaliyah Xiomara Leanos are the other two players that have multiple goals this season.

Freshman Kaylee Sarnicola has played nearly every minute in net this season for the Lakers. She has made 137 saves this season.

Roosevelt will close their 2026 season on Saturday at home against Saginaw Valley State.

SCOUTING PURDUE NORTHWEST (5-5-6; 3-4-5 GLIAC):
The Lions come into the final week looking to improve their place in the GLIAC table prior to the GLIAC Tournament getting underway. PNW has already clinched a spot in the postseason. They currently sit eighth in the standings but could get as high as a tie for third in the standings as they sit now with two wins and some help.

PNW is unbeaten since October 9th in GLIAC play. During that span the Lions have four draws and one win. Most recently PNW drew with Gand Valley State 1-1 in Hammond.

Mia Davis leads the offense with eight goals and two assists. Those eight goals are the second most in the GLIAC this season. Six different Lions have posted multiple goals this season.

PNW will open the week on Thursday in University Center, Michigan against Saginaw Valley State before taking on Parkside on Saturday. The match Saturday with Parkside has been moved up an hour to 11am to accommodate the men's GLIAC Quarterfinal match that is scheduled to follow.
