10/22/2026 9:00:00 AM

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside women's soccer team will begin a four match road swing this week to close out the 2026 regular season. Parkside heads to Marquette to take on Northern Michigan on Friday before heading to Houghton to take on Michigan Tech on Sunday.

Parkside enters the final two weeks of the regular season sixth in the GLIAC standings, but they are just three points out of third place and a singular point out of fourth. A top four finish in the table would give Parkside a home match in the GLIAC Tournament for a second straight season.

The Rangers are coming off a 1-1 week where they dropped a 1-0 decision to Wayne State, then rebounded with a 1-0 senior day win over Davenport. Junior Ava Rizzitano scored her team leading seventh goal of the season in the win on Sunday. Her seven goals is tied for the second most in the GLIAC this season.

Lindsay Ferrara is coming off two of her best matches of the season, making seven saves against Wayne State and four against Davenport. Ferrara and the Parkside back line has recorded five shutouts this season.

SCOUTING NORTHERN MICHIGAN (8-3-3; 5-3-2 GLIAC):
Northern Michigan enters the final two weeks of the regular season in a tie for fourth place in the GLIAC standings with Davenport and just two points behind Saginaw Valley State for third place.

The Wildcats have turned up the intensity on the defensive end over the last four matches, posting four straight clean sheets, winning three of those matches.

NMU has also had their way offensively over the last month, outscoring opponents 20-2 since Sept. 20th. They are 5-0-2 during that span. The Wildcat offense is tied with Grand Valley State for the most goals in the conference this season. Three different Wildcats have scored five goals and 11 different players have scored this season.

SCOUTING MICHIGAN TECH (1-11-2; 1-7-2 GLIAC):
Michigan Tech enters the final two weeks of the regular season needing positive results to sneak their way into the GLIAC Tournament. They currently sit on the outside looking in, six points behind Ferris State for the eighth and final tournament spot.

The Huskies can help themselves out this week before taking on Parkside on Sunday. They will host Ferris State on Friday evening.

MTU is 1-1-1 over their last three matches with a home win over Roosevelt and a draw with Purdue Northwest. Goals have been hard to come by for the Huskies, as they have found the back of the net just five times this season while allowing 34.

UP NEXT:
Following the matches this week, the Rangers will ready themselves for the final week of the regular season which will take place on the road. Parkside will head to Arlington Heights, Illinois on Thursday Oct. 29th to take on Roosevelt, then will hit the road again two days later to take on Purdue Northwest.
