KENOSHA, Wis. — The Parkside women's soccer team (6-5-2, 4-4-1) fell to Wayne State (9-1-3, 5-1-3) 1-0 on Friday in the first-ever meeting between the two programs and the only meeting between them this year.

The Rangers were outshot 19-9, including 8-4 in shots on goal, and Lindsey Ferrara recorded a career-high seven saves over 90 minutes. The Rangers still generated pockets of offense, including a late stretch while trailing with a shot and two corner kicks, but Wayne State finished with the greater volume of attempts.

Wayne State generated six first-half shots and four corner kicks, including a sustained stretch of pressure, but the Rangers kept the half scoreless. The Rangers finished with four shots and put two on goal, with Ferrara making one save as the teams went to halftime tied 0-0.

Wayne State outshot the Rangers 13-5 in the second half and put seven attempts on goal, with Ferrara making six saves after halftime. The only goal came off a set piece from near midfield in the 68th minute, when Reagan Brengman sent a ball from near the center stripe over the pack and to the goal line. Ferrara leaped to knock it down, but Sabrina Gaul was there to clean it up and scored her first collegiate goal to make it 1-0. The Rangers generated five shots and two late corner kicks but finished the match down 1-0.

Ferrara finished with seven saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal. Ava Rizzitano led the Rangers with two shots, including one on goal. Rizzitano also reached the 20 shots on goal mark for the season.

The Rangers are 6-5-2 overall and 4-4-1 in conference play. Wayne State is 9-1-3 overall and 5-1-3 in conference play.
