KENOSHA, Wis. -- Parkside Baseball Head Coach
Zac Charbonneau has signed a multi-year contract extension, as announced by
Adam Schemm '08, Director of Athletics.
Charbonneau is entering his 4th season at the helm of the Parkside Baseball program in 2025-26. His experience as a former baseball student-athlete and his success as a baseball coach on the college summer ball circuit, junior college level and NCAA level has helped bring Parkside's Baseball program back to prominence.
"We are thrilled to extend Coach Charbonneau's contract and continue building on the strong foundation he's established within our baseball programs for the past four years," said Schemm. "His commitment to excellence, both on the diamond and in the development of our student-athletes and community, has been instrumental in restoring our baseball program. I look forward to the continued growth of the programs under his leadership."
On the diamond, Charbonneau has led the Parkside Baseball program to their first winning season and 30-win season since 2005 with 30-19 regular season record this past spring, finishing in third place in the GLIAC, earning a GLIAC Tournament post season berth. Under his tutelage, the Rangers have had student-athletes earn the last two GLIAC Freshmen Pitcher of the Year honors, All-Region honors, and numerous GLIAC honors. In addition, Charbonneau is stewarding a program that is commitment to giving back to the local community through baseball and growing the connection of the Parkside Baseball alumni of the past to the program of today.
"Parkside has truly become home for me and my family, and I couldn't ask for a better fit," said Charbonneau. "I am incredibly grateful for the chance to continue leading this program and to represent Ranger Baseball. Thank you to our Athletic Director
Adam Schemm and Chancellor Akey for the continued support. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our players and the tireless work of our coaching staff, especially
Aaron Cusimano and C.J. Thieleke, who have been instrumental in our progress. Together, we've built something special, and I'm excited to keep pushing forward as we keep chasing our goals and continue the bond between our program, alumni, and Southeast Wisconsin/Northern Illinois community."
