KENOSHA, Wis. – Parkside Softball standout Mia Johnson has been named a recipient of the GLIAC Commissioner's Award for the Spring 2025 season, recognizing her excellence both on the field and in the classroom. Johnson, a junior from South Milwaukee, Wis., holds a 3.89 GPA as a sports management major.

The award caps off one of the most successful and decorated individual seasons in program history. The 2025 GLIAC Player of the Year, also earned Third Team All-America honors from the NFCA, in addition to being selected to the NFCA and D2CCA All-Midwest Region teams.

At the plate, Johnson led the GLIAC in home runs, doubles, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, OPS, and walks drawn. She was also among the conference's top ten in batting average and RBIs. Nationally, she ranked top ten in home runs and top 20 in slugging percentage, showcasing her power and consistency throughout the season.

Her performance played a key role in propelling Parkside Softball to it's second GLIAC Tournament Championship appearance in the last three years. Off the field, Johnson continued her excellence as a student-athlete, earning 2025 CSC Academic All-District honors for her achievements in the classroom.

The GLIAC Commissioner's Award is presented after each athletic season to six male and six female student-athletes who display outstanding academic and athletic achievement.
