Waters Deals, Rangers Dominate in Second Straight Shutout Victory Over SVSU

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Parkside baseball squad delivered a complete performance Sunday afternoon at Simmons Field, shutting out Saginaw Valley 6-0 in front of a lively home crowd on Senior Day. The Rangers improved to 28-17 overall and reached the .500 mark in GLIAC play at 10-10 with the convincing win.

How it happened:
Keegan Waters was brilliant on the mound, tossing 6.1 scoreless innings while scattering just five hits and striking out five to earn his first win of the season. The Parkside bullpen slammed the door from there, with Parker Swanson and Carter Storti combining for 2.2 shutout frames. Storti picked up his fourth save, earning saves in back-to-back games.

Parkside's offense took control in the third inning when Dylan Sayles crushed a two-run double to left center, giving the Rangers a lead they would never surrender. Sayles finished the afternoon with three RBIs, setting the tone in the middle of the order.

The Rangers continued to apply pressure all day, adding insurance runs late. Angel Rades sparked a sixth-inning rally with an RBI single, then helped fuel a three-run eighth inning with another hit and a stolen base. Peter Fusek and Jake Petasek each drew key bases-loaded walks in the eighth, and Sayles capped the scoring with an RBI fielder's choice.

Parkside's aggressive baserunning also paid off, stealing four bases and forcing multiple mistakes from Saginaw Valley's pitchers and defense. Meanwhile, the Rangers' defense was flawless, turning a critical double play and committing no errors.

With the win, Parkside sits just a game above Saginaw Valley in the GLIAC standings and continues to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
