Rangers Ride Big Early Innings, Gerritson Shines in Victory Over Missouri S&T

Kenosha, Wis. — Parkside Baseball got the job done early and never looked back, powering past Missouri S&T with a 9–3 win on a Saturday afternoon at the Historic Simmons Field. The Rangers racked up 15 hits, rode six strong innings from starter Noah Gerritson.

How it happened:
After Missouri S&T went down quietly in the top of the first, Parkside came out swinging in the bottom half, plating three runs on four hits. Peter Fusek ignited the offense with a leadoff single and promptly stole second, setting the tone. RBI singles from Owen Brock and Jacob York, along with an RBI knock from Carter Storti, gave the Rangers a 3–0 lead out of the gate.

Parkside exploded for four more runs in the second, punctuated by a three-run blast off the bat of John St. Clair, his fourth of the season. St. Clair finished with three RBIs on the day, while Brock continued his tear at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored.

The offensive onslaught gave Gerritson all the cushion he needed. The southpaw was efficient and composed, tossing six innings of four-hit ball with five strikeouts to earn his fourth win of the season. He worked around four walks and gave up just one earned run.

Missouri S&T scratched across single runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh, including a solo home run from Jackson Evans, but couldn't climb back into the game. Parkside's bullpen duo of Nick Tinajero and Austin Grube combined to allow just two hits over the final three innings, slamming the door shut.

Parkside's offense saw contributions up and down the lineup — eight different Rangers recorded hits, with Dylan Sayles joining Brock and St. Clair in the multi-hit column, going 3-for-5 with an RBI.

After the win, Parkside improved to 25-14 overall and officially split the four game set with Missouri S&T. This marks the first season in 19 years that the Rangers have reached the 25-win mark.
