KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside softball team is set for their final non-conference games before opening GLIAC play this week. The Rangers will go toe to toe against UIS in Springfield on Tuesday. Doubleheader action is set for 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. CDT with coverage available at ParksideRangers.com/coverage.

The Rangers
Parkside enters the week with a 9-7 record after dropping two to Lincoln of Missouri in doubleheader action. Ton Rodriguez would have a solid showing despite the losses for the Rangers. The senior had a multi-hit performance in game one, going 2-for-4 with four RBIs for the Rangers. She finished the weekend 3-for-7 and is currently second on Parkside in batting average at .320. Rylee Baetz also had a solid weekend and now leads the Rangers in batting average at .365.

UIS
The Prairie Stars enter the week with a 12-9 overall record. They opened GLVC play this past weekend, dropping a doubleheader to Truman State on Friday, but bouncing back to sweep Quincy on Sunday. UIS would rack up a total of 27 runs across the two games against the Hawks.

The UIS offense has two players who have already racked up more than 20 hits on the season. Ella Brinkley leads the way with 27 hits on the year and batting .409 entering the week. She has 14 extra base hits including three homeruns and pairs that with a team leading 16 RBIs. Brinkley is a tough out, having struck out just twice the entire season. Teammate Rosie Bartletti follows close behind, batting .350 with three triples already this season. She brings speed to the base paths as well, already having swiped 16 bags on the year, a mark which she leads the GLVC in.

Bartletti is a two way player for the Prairie Stars and has been tremendous in the circle. She holds a 3.14 ERA entering the week and has struck out 68 batters, a mark that is third best in the GLVC. She has put in a team high 51.1 innings of work. The Rangers could also face Addyson McClure who holds a 3.42 ERA through 43 innings pitched. She utilizes her defense more than Bartletti with just 21 strike outs, but has just 21 earned runs to her ledger.
