KENOSHA, Wis. — The second ranked Parkside Ranger wrestling team returned home on Friday night, hosting the Minnesota State Moorhead Dragons. Parkside dominated from start to finish, winning all ten bouts, in route to a 42-(-1) win.
Twelfth ranked Shane Corrigan started the night defeating Clayton Mele by an 18-1 tech fall. Corrigan struck first with a takedown in the first l and led 3-0 after the opening three minutes. He scored ten points in the second with two takedowns and four near fall points. Corrigan closed out the win with an escape and takedown in the third.
Fifth ranked Matthew Chi won a tight battle by a 9-6 decision over Ryan Henningson. After a scoreless first Chi was able to take a 4-1 lead in the second with an escape and a takedown. Henningson tied the bout early in the third, but Chi was able to secure the winning takedown in the fleeting seconds of the third period.
Top ranked Cayden Henschel defeated Pedro Velazquez 4-1 in sudden victory. Scoring was tough to come by with both wrestlers only scoring during regulation coming on escapes. Henschel was able to secure the victory in overtime with a takedown.
Eleventh ranked Easton Worachek won by 15-0 tech fall over Cody Wienen. Worachek scored quickly in the first with a takedown and four near fall points. He added three more points in the second, then closed the bout out with a takedown and riding time in the third.
Seventh ranked Ben Durocher won by a 16-0 first period tech fall over Nathan Berchtold. Durocher quickly took down Berchtold, then earned 12 near fall points to close out his opponent in the first period.
Ninth ranked Dajun Johnson won by a 20-4 tech fall over Jacob Reinardy. Johnson had five takedowns in the bout, two coming in each period except the second when he earned four near fall points.
Brady Schuh won by a 10-4 decision over Mason Gode. Schuh had two first period takedowns and lead 6-2 after the first. Schuh added one more takedown in the second, and was able to hold on for the win.
Third ranked Reece Worachek picked up Parkside's only win by fall of the night. He won by fall over Wyatt Powell 1:39 into the first period.
Chase Stegall won by a 6-0 decision over Isaiah Huus. It took over five minutes for a point to be scored in the bout. Stegall was on top in the second period and was able to accumulate two minutes of riding time. Stegall broke the scoreless tie in the third with an escape then a takedown.
Seventh ranked Lloyd Reynolds closed out the night with an 8-4 decision win over Liam Babbit. Reynolds broke a scoreless tie in the second period with an escape and a takedown. He made the score 7-0 early in the third with a takedown, then was able to hold on for the victory.
