Millington, TN. – Parkside wrapped up a dominant opening weekend with a four-game sweep over Kentucky Wesleyan on Monday. The Rangers showcased their offensive firepower, scoring 14 runs across the doubleheader. Jackson Lindquist delivered his second home run of the season to push Parkside ahead in game one, while John St. Clair sealed the series finale with his first collegiate blast. With the sweep, Parkside improves to 4-0, marking the best start since the 2007 season.
GAME ONE
The Rangers struck first in the second inning when John St. Clair and John Wubben reached base to set the table. Angel Rades delivered an RBI single to open the scoring, followed by run-scoring hits from Nathan Hanel and Peter Fusek to extend the lead to 3-0.
Kentucky Wesleyan answered in the bottom half, plating three runs on three hits to even the game after two innings.
Freshman Sam Mommer made his Parkside debut on the mound, settling in after the second and tossing six strong innings. He struck out six and held Kentucky Wesleyan scoreless over his final four frames, keeping Parkside in the game.
In the final inning, Jackson Lindquist delivered in the clutch once again. With two outs and runners on, Lindquist—who smashed a go-ahead home run the night before—did it again, launching a three-run shot to put Parkside ahead 6-3.
Isaiah Terrell entered in the bottom half, looking for his second save in as many days. Kentucky Wesleyan put two runners aboard, bringing the tying run to the plate, but Terrell shut the door to seal the victory. Mommer earned his first collegiate win, and Parkside improved to 3-0 on the season.
GAME TWO
First-inning momentum set the tone as Peter Fusek led off with a base hit—his third hit of the day. Later in the frame, Owen Brock roped an opposite-field RBI double to put the Rangers on the board. Carter Storti followed with an RBI single down the right-field line, giving Parkside an early 2-0 lead.
Kentucky Wesleyan responded in the second, plating three runs to take a narrow 3-2 advantage.
Parkside drew even in the fourth when Josh Wicker came through with a clutch, two-out RBI single up the middle, scoring John St. Clair and Jacob York.
The turning point came in the fifth as Parkside loaded the bases with nobody out. Dylan Sayles scored the go-ahead run on a passed ball before Storti extended the lead with an RBI groundout. Then, John St. Clair delivered the knockout punch, crushing a three-run homer over the right-field fence to push Parkside ahead 8-4. It was the first home run of St. Clair's collegiate career.
Maguire Delagrave and Peter Fusek combined to throw the final 2.2 innings, shutting down Kentucky Wesleyan's offense and sealing Parkside's dominant four-game sweep to open the season.

Following the opening series of the 2025 season, Parkside is now slated to make their home debut on Wednesday.
