No. 3 Parkside Cruises to 39–3 Victory Over Dragons

KENOSHA, Wis. — No. 3-ranked Parkside Wrestling earned a dominant 39–3 victory over Minnesota State University Moorhead in North Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) action, powered by three technical falls and one fall. 

The dual started at 125, where No.2 Shane Corrigan won over Clayson Mele in a (17-2) tech fall at 5:16. In the first period, Corrigan had two takedowns, then against two more in the second along with an escape point and penalty point. To close the bout out, he earned three more points in the third by another takedown. He earned five points to the overall score, making it 5-0 Rangers. 

In the 133-pound bout, Elon Rodriguez won in a (14-3) major decision over Brody Toledo. Rodriguez had two takedowns in the first period. In the third person, he secured victory after earning an escape point, 6 total takedown points and a riding time point. He earned 4 points for the Rangers, totaling 9-0.

At 141 pounds, Troy Dolphin fell to No.15 Pedro Velazquez in a (6-3) decision, marking Moorhead's first points of the day making the score 9-3 in favor of the Rangers.  

Henry Niebauer secured a (11-2) major decision win over Park Benz. In the first period, he had two takedowns and earned four near fall points. In the second, he earned an escape point, furthering Parkside's lead to 13-3. 

At 157 pounds, No.4 Easton Worachek picked up the third major decision (10-2) win for the Rangers over Jacob Thomas. Worachek started his bout out with two takedowns, then earned an escape point in the second. In the third, he earned a stalling warning point and his third takedown, making it 17-3.

Liam Fox started the second half of the dual off strong for the Rangers at 165 pounds. He won by a (7-0) decision over Damon Ferguson. Throughout his bout, Fox had two takedowns and earned an escape point, adding three more points to the Ranger overall score totaling 20-3. 

In the 174 pound class, Sullivan Ramos had the second tech fall of the day (17-1) for the Rangers at 5:19. Ramos had two early takedowns in the first period, followed by an escape point, another takedown and four near fall points in the second. In the third, he had his fourth takedown of the bout, adding five points to Parkside's total, 25-3. 

Ranked No. 11, Brady Schuh picked up a victory by fall over Kishmar Eberline at 1:26. He added six points to the overall score, 31-3 Rangers.

Jordan Blanchard picked up the third tech fall (22-7) of the day for the Rangers at 197 pounds. He defeated Wyatt Powell, earning two reversal points, four near fall points and three takedown points in the first period. In both the second and third period, Blanchard also had takedowns, making the score 36-3 Rangers. 

At 285 pounds, Cooper Caraway claimed victory over Isaiah Wright in a (2-0) decision. Caraway earned both of his points by escaping. Making the overall score 39-3.

With the victory, No. 3 Parkside moves to 4–1 overall and 2–1 in NSIC action, while improving to 6–0 all-time against the Dragons. The Rangers are back January 9 as they head to Cedar Falls, Iowa, for the NWCA National Duals.
