KENOSHA, Wis. — Parkside women's soccer closes the regular season with a two-match week, starting Thursday, Nov. 6, in Big Rapids against Ferris State before returning home on Saturday, Nov. 8, to host Davenport at Wood Road Field.
The Rangers have already clinched a GLIAC Tournament berth and enter the final weekend at 8-6-2 overall and 8-3-1 in conference play for 25 points and second place, holding the tiebreaker over Saginaw Valley State. They are coming off a split in the U.P. last week, a 3-1 win at Michigan Tech followed by a 1-0 setback at Northern Michigan.
Thursday, Nov. 6
Parkside at Ferris State
12 p.m. CT | Bulldog Soccer Field | Big Rapids, Mich.
Saturday, Nov. 8
Davenport at Parkside
1 p.m. CT | Wood Road Field | Kenosha, Wis.
Parkside's attack is paced by Emily Mikkelson, who is tied for the GLIAC lead with 7 assists, ranks sixth in points with 15, and has 4 goals. Ava Rizzitano and Lindsay Dahlinger have 4 goals apiece, with Dahlinger's 3 game-winners tied for the league lead. In goal, Tristen Cross ranks third in saves per game at 4.23 and has recorded 3 shutouts. Team-wide, the Rangers have produced one of the league's steadiest two-way profiles this fall, converting timely set pieces, creating second-half chances, and securing points in tight matches to lock up a top-four position going into the final weekend.
SCOUTING FERRIS STATE:
The Bulldogs have also clinched a GLIAC Tournament spot and enter the week at 6-4-6 overall and 6-3-3 in league play, sitting fourth on 21 points and four clear of Northern Michigan in fifth. Ferris State is 3-1-1 over its last five while outscoring opponents 8-3 in that span, including a 2-0 win over Saginaw Valley State on Sunday. Few in the conference are more active in front of goal than Katherine Welch, who leads the GLIAC in shots on goal with 23 and ranks second in total shots with 45. She paces the Bulldogs with 5 goals and 12 points. In net, Korrine Ihrke has allowed just 13 goals in 15 matches and sits second in the league in shutouts with 5, third in total saves with 61, and third in save percentage at .824. When these teams met in Kenosha on Oct. 19, the Bulldogs edged the Rangers 1-0.
This is the 16th all-time meeting. Parkside is 4-10-1 in the series and 1-4 in Big Rapids, though the Rangers earned a 2-1 road win last season. Ferris State is 8-1-1 across the last 10 meetings.
SCOUTING DAVENPORT:
The Panthers enter the week 4-9-3 overall and 3-8-1 in the GLIAC, sitting sixth with 13 points and a 3-2 mark over their last five. Davenport has scored 12 goals in 16 matches, the second-lowest total in the league, and has leaned on goalkeeper Elizabeth Wolter, who leads the GLIAC in save percentage at .841 and saves per game at 5.89, with 3 clean sheets. Offensively, Ella Chatfield tops the team with 6 points on 2 goals and 2 assists, while the Panthers look to set plays and counter moments to manufacture chances. The teams last met on Oct. 26 in Caledonia, where Parkside earned a 1-0 win on Emily Giese's first collegiate goal off a corner just before halftime.
Saturday is the 13th all-time meeting between the programs. Parkside is 3-3-6 overall in the series and 2-2-2 in Kenosha, with no losses to Davenport since Sept. 18, 2022, and none at home since Nov. 7, 2021.
