Parkside Drops Regular-Season Finale to Ferris State

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. — Parkside Volleyball wrapped up its regular-season schedule on Saturday with a 3–0 setback to Ferris State, falling 25–17, 25–16, 25–17 at Ewigleben Sports Arena. The Rangers move to 18–8 overall and 9–7 in GLIAC play as they turn their attention to postseason action.

In the opening set, Parkside matched the Bulldogs early, but Ferris State's efficient offense and strong sideout rhythm allowed the home team to pull away late for a 25–17 win. Lucy Russ and Lily Ray distributed the offense well, with multiple Rangers recording two or more kills in the frame.

The second set followed a similar pattern as the Rangers continued to battle but ultimately fell 25–16. Lucy Russ helped spark Parkside with two service aces, but Ferris State maintained its momentum to take a 2–0 lead. Parkside hit .075 in the frame, while Ferris State continued its efficient play at a .290 mark.

Parkside produced its strongest push in the third set, improving its sideout rate to 52% and staying competitive throughout the frame. Sam Fisch led the late charge, hitting .667 in the set alone with four kills. Still, the Bulldogs' balance at the net proved too much as Ferris State secured the match with a 25–17 finish.

Parkside was led by strong efforts from Sam Fisch and Avary Polavin, who each finished with 10 kills to pace the offense. Fisch hit .389 and added two block assists for a team-high 12 points. Senior libero Natalie Harris anchored the backcourt with 10 digs, and setter Lucy Russ directed the attack with 18 assists, two aces, and four digs. Lily Ray added seven assists and seven digs as the Rangers finished with 30 kills, 36 digs and 3.5 team blocks.

The Rangers will be back in action on Wednesday for the quarterfinals of the GLIAC Tournament, with their opponent still to be determined.
