Rangers Set for 2025 Midwest Crossover Weekend

HAMMOND, IND.- The Parkside Rangers are gearing up for one of the biggest volleyball events of the season, as they head to Hammond, Ind., this weekend to compete in the 2025 Midwest Crossover. The annual tournament brings together programs from the GLIAC, GLVC, and G-MAC for a showcase of regional talent and competition. Parkside will take on three opponents over the weekend, beginning with Northwood University, followed by Malone University and Truman State University.

Parkside enters the weekend with a 10-5 overall record and a 3-5 mark in GLIAC competition. The Rangers have been one of the top offensive teams in the conference this season, leading the GLIAC in assists per set (12.60) and total assists (731). Offensively, Parkside is powered by Ava Irvin and Sam Fisch, who rank third and fourth in the conference in total kills with 202 and 196, respectively. Defensively, the Rangers are anchored by standout libero Natalie Harris, who ranks seventh nationally and first in the conference in digs per set (5.78). Harris has also been a key factor at the service line, ranking second in the GLIAC with 27 aces. 

Scouting Northwood: 
Parkside opens the weekend against a familiar foe in Northwood, a former GLIAC member that continues to be a consistent contender in the G-MAC. The Timberwolves enter the weekend with a 5-8 overall record and a 2-5 mark in conference play. Northwood is led offensively by Sage Kissman, who has tallied 176 kills on the season while also contributing 12 service aces and 98 digs. Defensively, Laney Kokaly anchors the back row with a team-high 218 digs. Historically, the Rangers are 3-5 all-time against Northwood. The two programs most recently met at last year's Midwest Region Crossover, where the Timberwolves edged out a 3-2 victory. 

Scouting Malone:
The Pioneers enter the weekend with a 5-10 overall record and a 4-3 mark in G-MAC play. Earlier this season, James Gilbert earned G-MAC Athlete of the Week honors and continues to lead the team offensively with 119 kills and 41 total blocks. Defensively, Madalyn Coblentz anchors the back row with a team-leading 155 digs. Historically, the Rangers are 3-0 all-time against Malone. The two programs last met in 2019, when Parkside earned a 3-0 sweep.

Scouting Truman State: 
Parkside closes the weekend with a matchup against Truman State from the GLVC. The Bulldogs enter the weekend with a 6-12 overall record and a 3-3 mark in conference play. Earlier this season, Addy Janssen earned GLVC Defensive Player of the Week honors and leads the team with 295 digs. Offensively, Autumn Erickson and Michaela Goad pace the Bulldogs with 124 kills each, giving Truman State a balanced attack at the net. The Rangers and Bulldogs are an even 4-4 all-time in their series history. The most recent matchup came in September of 2024, when Parkside earned a 3-1 victory.
