10/16/2025 9:00:00 AM

KENOSHA, Wis. — Fresh off a four-point weekend, the Parkside men's soccer team hits the road for rematches at Saginaw Valley State on Friday, Oct. 17 at 3 p.m. ET at Robert C. Braddock Field and at Davenport on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. ET at DU Turf Field. The Rangers enter the week tied atop the GLIAC table with Roosevelt at 4-1-1 (13 points).

Eduardo Aguilera-Guillen continues to drive the attack after converting the 89th-minute penalty to secure last Friday's 2-2 draw with Davenport, while goalkeeper Daniyal Rana's nine-save outing and late stops helped close out Sunday's 2-1 win over SVSU. First-year contributors Yeison Santos and Angel Luevano sparked the early breakthrough vs. Davenport, and Keven Sosa and Stephon Zekanovic provided late-game quality—capped by Zekanovic's 88th-minute winner against the Cardinals.

SCOUTING SAGINAW VALLEY STATE:

These teams met Sunday in Kenosha, where Parkside weathered heavy pressure and won 2-1 behind Zekanovic's 88th-minute breakaway, set up by Aguilera-Guillen. SVSU controlled much of the stat sheet—shots 23-10 (11-4 on goal) and corners 9-2—but Rana's nine saves and a composed defensive shape carried the finish. The Cardinals return home in second place in the GLIAC at 4-2-0 (12 points) after their first two losses of the season last weekend. Players to watch: senior forward Matty Telfer (five goals), attackers Lui Ingavi and Evan Baker, and goalkeeper Nick Kay (four shutouts; among GLIAC leaders in goals-against average). Parkside leads 8-5-5 in the all-time series and is 3-2-1 away from Kenosha.

SCOUTING DAVENPORT:

Parkside and Davenport drew 2-2 last Friday at Wood Road Field. Santos struck in the 7th minute from Luevano, the Panthers answered through Ryan Sheffer and Maxamillian Postlewait, and Aguilera-Guillen buried the 89th-minute penalty to salvage a point. The Rangers surged after halftime, outshooting DU 18-3 in the second half (27-12 overall) while Panthers keeper Beau Hudd finished with nine saves. Davenport enters the week in seventh place in the GLIAC at 0-3-3 (three points) and is coming off a 1-1 draw at Northern Michigan on Sunday. Players to watch: Hudd in net, midfielder Charlie Davis as a primary creator, and scorers Sheffer and Postlewait.
Series history: Parkside leads 8-7-3 all-time and is 6-3 on the road, though the Rangers dropped both road meetings last season.
