Kenosha, Wis. – After a short stint at home, the Parkside Rangers will hit the road for a pair of GLIAC battles against No. 1 Grand Valley State on Thursday and Davenport on Saturday. Parkside, which has been brilliant on the road, will have its work cut out with a Grand Valley State team that hasn't lost a Division II game yet this season.
Last Week for Parkside
The Rangers took on Ferris State and Lake Superior State at home this past weekend. Parkside, which is 9-1 in road games, fell to 1-3 in home games after a 75-69 loss to Ferris State on Thursday night. However, Parkside bounced back with a 74-62 win over Lake Superior State on Saturday. They are now 11-4 overall and 6-2 in conference play. As it stands today, Parkside sits in a tie for third place.
After the loss to Ferris State, Parkside rebounded well on Saturday. Six players on the team finished with seven or more points, with Chloe Van Zeeland leading the way. Van Zeeland had a great game, notching 19 points, five rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Van Zeeland has been a threat at home, scoring double figures in four of five home games this season.
Despite Parkside's 2-3 home record, they are 9-1 in road games. In fact, they are on a four-game win streak in road contests. As it stands today, four players average in double figures: Cassidy Arni (13.8), Sheridan Flauger (11.2), Peighton Nelson (11.2), and Chloe Van Zeeland (10.4). Flauger has had a solid season across the board, leading the conference in assists per game (4.1). Additionally, Lillie Petersen ranks fifth in the conference with 7.3 rebounds per game.

Scouting No. 1 Grand Valley State
The Lakers enter the weekend with a perfect 18-0 record in Division II contests. They sit atop the GLIAC with an 8-0 record while outscoring conference opponents 714-429. The team has been nothing short of excellent on both sides of the floor, ranking seventh in points per game in the nation with 83.6 and ninth in points allowed at 52.6. Mike Williams remains at the helm of the Lakers in his tenth season, and after a 31-win season and an appearance in the Sweet 16, he looks to guide them to the promised land this season.
The Lakers returned the 2023-24 GLIAC Player of the Year, Rylie Bisballe, who is well on her way to another postseason accolade. Bisballe is leading the Lakers, averaging 13.0 points per game with 4.7 boards per game in just 21 minutes a night. Contribution is shared among the team, with six players averaging 6.6 or more points. The Lakers are nearly the same team from last season, with just more experience.
Scouting Davenport
The Panthers of Davenport enter the weekend 3-13 overall, with a 1-7 conference record. They have yet to win a conference game in 2025 and have lost six consecutive games. Their sole GLIAC win came against Saginaw Valley State in the opening weekend of conference play on December 7, 2024. Ever since joining the GLIAC in the 2016-17 season, Davenport has not yet had a winning season, and their pursuit of one continues.
Junior guard Ellie Toney has been the catalyst for Davenport this season, leading the team in both points (12.6) and rebounds (7.9) per game. Toney has already scored 20+ in three different games this season. However, Toney has not appeared in a game since January 4. In her absence, Deyonce Thompson has stepped up, providing double figures in each of Davenport's last five games.
History
Parkside and Grand Valley State have a long history dating back to 1992. The Lakers have had the advantage, winning 20 of 24 games against the Rangers. In fact, the Lakers have won seven straight since 2021, with Parkside's last victory coming in March of 2021. On the other hand, Parkside is an impressive 10-0 all-time against Davenport. Parkside has scored over 100 points two times, including a 104-54 victory at home last season.
