St. Cloud, Minn. — The No. 21 ranked Parkside Men's Soccer team hit the road for the first time in GLIAC play on Friday night, taking on the St. Cloud State Huskies. The Rangers came out on the wrong side of a high scoring affair, falling 4-3.
The Rangers fell behind midway through the first half when the Huskies took a 1-0 lead on an Eduardo Balduino strike. The score remained the same throughout the rest of the half despite Parkside out shooting SCSU 9-6 over the first 45 minutes.
Parkside finally found an answer in the 49th minute when Paco Piscaglia was able to take a cross and find the back of the net for his first goal of the season.
SCSU struck back just under two minutes later, taking a 2-1 lead on a penalty kick goal.
The second half scoring continued in the 63rd minute when Tank Anderson leveled the game at two with his first goal of the season.
SCSU found the back of the net once again in the 76th minute, with Philip Caputo scoring his second of the match, making the score 3-2 SCSU.
Parkside continued the fight, pulling equal at three in the 84th minute when Eduardo Perez scored.
Unfortunately for the Rangers, SCSU was able to pull ahead less than a minute later when Caputo netted his third goal of the night, sealing the 4-3 victory for the Huskies.
