5/13/2024 4:15:00 PM

Kenosha, Wis - The Parkside volleyball program, under the guidance of Head Coach Leigh Barea, proudly introduces its latest recruits for the class of 2024. The Rangers have added five freshmen with one transfer to the 2024 squad.

"We are really excited to welcome this class of newcomers!" remarked Head Coach Leigh Barea. All six of them are passionate about being at Parkside and continuing to move forward the culture and standards that the teams before them have set. I think Ranger Nation is going to love getting to know each of them and I can't wait to see the impact they make!"

Lucy Russ - Setter - 5'9 - Villa Park, IL - IC Catholic Prep
Russ joins the program after finishing her high school career as a three-time all-conference honoree. Additionally, she secured All-Area Team recognition three times, earning Honorable Mention All-State and All-American accolades once each. Russ comes from a program of success, contributing to a team that won three Conference Championships, and finished as State Runner-Ups in both 2022 and 2023.

"Lucy is someone who has competitiveness and a high volleyball IQ in her blood. When you watch her play, she is consistent and dependable as a setter. She plays with a ton of joy and her teammates absolutely adore her. We are looking forward to adding her to our setting position and as a leader in the future." - Coach Barea

Monica Lukasiewicz - Middle Blocker - 6'0 - Bloomingdale, IL - Lake Park High School
Lukasiewicz was the Team MVP at Lake Park High School. Additionally, she was a part of a team that won a Regional Championship in 2022.

"Monica is an athlete that we are thrilled to add to our team. She has been in an elite training system the past couple of years, but continues to make huge strides in all areas of her game. Offensively, she has the ability to terminate from all attacks through the middle. Defensively, she is quick and dynamic which allows her to close blocks and earn points for her team. We are excited to see the impact she will make as a middle blocker over her career." - Coach Barea

Audrey Musselman - Middle Blocker - 6'1 - Winneconne, WI - Winneconne High School
Musselman, ascending from an Honorable Mention All-Conference junior season, nailed down Unanimous First Team All-Conference honors in her senior campaign. In fact, Musselman and the Winneconne High School program won the 2021 and 2022 Regional Championship. Beyond her on-court achievements, Musselman garnered AAU Academic All-American for two consecutive years.

"Audrey has been so fun to watch grow over the recruiting process as a volleyball player and we can't wait to get her in our system. She is one of the best athletes we have recruited when it comes to blocking footwork and potential. She continues to elevate her game offensively and we are excited to build her into a middle blocker who can terminate offensively and defensively in the GLIAC." - Coach Barea

Delaney Molloy - 5'6' - Defense Specialist - Belvidere, IL - Belvidere High School
Molloy joins the program after a decorated high school career. Serving as team captain in 2022 and 2023, she clinched Honorable Mention All-State status in the 2022 season. Along the way, she earned First Team All-Conference honors. In the ensuing 2023 season, she found a spot on the Honorable Mention All-Conference roster. Molloy shattered the single-season dig record in her sophomore year, and then broke her own record once again in her junior season. Her junior season also witnessed her achieving the 1,000 dig milestone.

"Delaney is one of those athletes and teammates that everyone raves about. She is extremely hard working, always communicating and positive. She makes others around her better on and off the court. She is going to be a great addition to our defense and ball control as she is very athletic and has an elite platform." - Coach Barea

Delanie Voss - 6'1' - Outside Hitter - Cedar Lake, Ind - Illiana Christian High School

She contributed to a team that finished as 2024 Sectional Champions, following their Conference win in 2022 and Runner-Up finishes in 2023 and 2024.

"Lanie is an athlete we are extremely excited about. She has a high knowledge of the game and has a ceiling that is even higher. Her length as an attacker is something we are really looking forward to developing. Add in her great ball control, she adds a new dynamic to our pin depth." - Coach Barea

Alayja Floyd - 5'11 - Middle Blocker - Pickerington, OH - Pickerington High School Central

"Alayja comes to us with great experience at the DII level and adds depth to our middle blocker position. From the first moment we talked on the phone, you could tell she is motivated and driven to be her best. Our favorite thing about Alayja is her elite leadership skills and positive attitude which will be a great addition to our team." - Coach Barea
