Preview: Two GLIAC Doubleheaders Await Rangers Softball

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside softball team is set for more GLIAC action this week. Due to weather, Friday's game has been moved to Purdue Northwest. The subsequent doubleheader on April 10th has been moved to Kenosha and will now be a home game for the Rangers. With that change, Sunday's doubleheader against Ferris State will now serve as the Rangers home opener, weather permitting. Friday's game has a first pitch is set for 1 p.m. CDT. Sunday's first pitch against the Bulldogs is set for 12 p.m. CDT.
 
Purdue Northwest
The Pride enter the weekend after splitting a GLIAC doubleheader with Wayne State last Friday. They are currently sitting at 16-14 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
Purdue Northwest's offense is led by Kylie Dugan. Dugan is swinging a .463 average so far this season which leads the GLIAC. She's done so in 95 at bats and collecting 44 hits. She is also dangerous on the basepaths, as she's stolen a team high 11 bags. Teammate Selena Michko leads the team in RBIs with 18.
On the defensive side the Pride are led by pitcher Maddison Roop. Roop has a stunning 1.74 ERA, a mark for fifth best of GLIAC pitchers. She's collected three shutouts while striking out 70 batters.
Series History
The all-time series record sits in favor of the Rangers at 12-4.
 
Ferris State
The Bulldogs enter the weekend with a 14-17 overall record and a 2-4 record in GLIAC play. They dropped both games of a doubleheader to Davenport in their most recent games. They did notably topped Grand Valley State in the opening game of the doubleheader against the Lakers 2-1.
Ferris State's offensive production is led by freshman Alexis Kozlowski. The first baseman is carrying a team leading .377 average in 106 at bats. She's collected 23 extra base hits and has a team leading five homeruns.
Defensively the Bulldogs are led by senior Aryn Gallacher. The pitcher has thrown 60.2 innings and holds a 1.96 ERA. She's struck out 39 batters across 16 appearances.
Series History
It's been a close contest between the two sides over the years. The record narrowly favors the Bulldogs 13-10.
