GAME ONE
In their first conference win of the season, the Rangers impressed on both sides of the ball. Additionally, they posted a conference season-high 10 runs in the ballgame behind a three-hit performance from Carter Storti.
After two scoreless innings of baseball, Andrew Harris broke the ice in the third inning. Harris remained red hot, as he slugged an opposite field run-scoring double. He scored Angel Rades to boost the Rangers ahead 1-0.
They were far from done in the inning, as Parkside's bats came alive up and down the order. RBI hits from Owen Brock, Carter Storti, and Jared Heinzen propelled the Rangers to a 5-0 lead after the third inning.
In the fourth inning, the bats picked up right where they left off. After John St. Clair ripped an RBI base hit, scoring Peter Fusek, Carter Storti delivered the fourth inning blow. With the bases loaded, Storti smoked a three-run double into the left center field gap. He scored Brock, St. Clair, and Harris which officially broke the game wide open, 9-0. The hit was a part of a three-hit, four-RBI game for the freshman Storti.
The Rangers reached the double figure mark in the same inning, as Jared Heinzen knocked in Storti on a single into right field. His second RBI hit of the game.
After getting the game one nod, Kaleb Schulist was the best he's been all season long on the mound. With some help from his offense, Schulist dealt all seven innings in the victory and tossed the first complete game of the season for any Rangers pitcher. In the process, he walked just one hitter and struck out six. He improved to 3-0 on the season with the win. It helped snap a five-game losing streak for the team, as the Rangers are officially in the win column for GLIAC play this season.
GAME TWO
It seemed as if the script completely flipped in the second game, as Davenport turned on the burner offensively. They stormed out to an early four run lead and never looked back, dominating Parkside 13-2.
After the 10 run and 11 hit performance, the Ranger offense shut down in game two. They went the first seven innings without scoring a run. Defensively, they went from not committing an error, to recording three. Davenport led by four runs after three innings, and poured on six runs in the fifth inning to run away with the game.
The Rangers got their first offensive production in the eighth inning when freshman Jude Allen continued to prove that he can provide. He ripped an RBI single up the middle that scored Koto Sato.
Camden Kearney came through off the bench afterwards. Kearney hit a hard ground ball up the middle and scored Jared Heinzen for Parkside's second and final run of the game.
