CHICAGO -- The Parkside men's track and field team headed to the Windy City on Friday night, competing at Gately Park in the Lewis Invitational. Parkside put up strong performances in multiple events. A few student-athletes also competed at the Tadd Metzger Invitational hosted at Carthage College.
Tommy Martin had a strong showing in the 200 meter, earning fifth place finish after running a 50.03.
The Rangers saw success in the 800 meter race with four Rangers placing in the top 15, highlighted by junior
Sean Waldvogel finishing in second place with a time of 1:58.02 and teammate
Erik Johnson finishing close behind in fourth with a time of 1:58.59.
Parkside had three Rangers place in the top ten in the seeded mile.
Grady Davis led the way, finishing in fourth after running a 4:16.06, a new PR. Johnathan Nowacki finished directly behind Davis in fifth place also running a PR 4:16.78.
Austin Depuydt nabbed sixth place finish, running a 4:17.05.
The unseeded mile also saw a strong Ranger performance.
Thomas Diamond placed fourth with a 4:33.39. Teammate Isaac Fulmer finished in eighth with a time of 4:41.01.
Jose Monroy posted a PR in the 3000 meter race, finishing in 8:56.29 and earning a third place finish.
Simon Dominic had a solid performance in the 60 meter hurdles. The sophomore ran a 8.63 to secure a fourth place finish.
The Rangers 4x400 meter team of
Tommy Martin,
Michael Cabaltera,
Austin Depuydt, and
Sean Waldvogel finished in second place in the event, running a 3:21.10.
Sean Dominic and
Ariel Molina performed well in the high jump. Dominic locked a second place finish with a height of 1.88 meters. Molina finished in sixth place with a jump of 1.83 meters.
Riley Williams finished in tenth place in the triple jump, jumping 11.98 meters.
At the Tadd Metzger Invitational
Thomas Doherty won the high jump with a mark of 1.95m.
Kaelan McDonough also posted a top ten finish in the shot put, finishing ninth with a mark of 12.83m.
