KENOSHA, Wis. -- The Ranger softball team is set to open their season at the 2024 Music City Invitational in Smyrna, Tennessee. Parkside is scheduled to play six games in the event starting on Friday afternoon.

The Rangers enter 2024 coming off a 19-32 season they capped off with a 2023 GLIAC Tournament Championship berth and looking to ride that successÂ
Parkside will return 16 players from last year's roster and mix in six new players to the program. Included in the long list of returning players are
Mia Johnson,
Cassie Rutledge and
Haley Remington. Johnson returns for her sophomore season after being voted First-Team All GLIAC at third base last season. She swung the bat well last season, batting .312 with 46 hits in 2023, including five homeruns. She was also flashed the leather in the field with a .976 fielding percentage and just three errors the entire season. Rutledge returns as a graduate student this spring. The outfielder had a career year at the plate last season with a career high .348 batting average and a team leading 1.009 on base percentage. Her play last season earned her Second-Team All GLIAC honors as an outfielder. Remington returns to the Rangers for her junior year. The utility player was great defensively for Parkside last season, posting a flawless 1.000 fielding percentage with 44 putouts.
