KENOSHA, Wis - The Parkside men's soccer team returned to action on Sunday afternoon at Wood Road Field. The Rangers took on the Lakers of Roosevelt University, topping the Lakers 2-0. With the win the Rangers move into third place in the GLIAC standings and sit just a point behind first place.
Inside the Box Score
- Chris Estrada picked up his fourth goal of the season in the effort. His 12th minute goal would be the game winner for the Rangers.
- Paco Piscaglia also collected his fourth goal of the year in the 86th minute. He, Estrada, and Eduardo Aguilera-Guillen all lead the Rangers on the season with four goals apiece.
- Daniyal Rana and the Parkside defense secured their fifth clean sheet of the season. Rana grabbed five saves en route to the clean sheet this afternoon.
How it Happened
The Rangers drew first blood early.
Tank Anderson and
Matteo Quintero would combine to send a through ball to
Chris Estrada. Estrada would take on touch and nestle the ball in past the keeper and into the back of the net to give the Rangers early 1-0 lead.
Parkside would deliver the final blow in the 86th minute.
Jamie Le Comte would dispossess a Lakers midfielder and connect with
Paco Piscaglia. Piscaglia would take one touch and put the ball on his right boot and send it past the keeper and inside the left post to make the score 2-0. The Rangers would hold in the final four minutes for the much needed GLIAC win.
