Rangers Drop Non-Conference Match to Maryville

KENOSHA, WIs -- The Parkside men's soccer team returned to Wood Road Field on Sunday afternoon for a rematch of the 2023 NCAA Tournament match against Maryville. The Rangers would fall at the hands of the Saints, 1-0.

  • The Rangers would put up 10 shots on the day, putting five of them on frame. 
  • Daniyal Rana had a solid outting in goal for the Rangers. The redshirt junior picked up six saves on the afternoon.

How it Happened
The opening half of play would be scoreless between both sides. The Rangers would create a handful of offensive opportunities, forcing the Maryville keeper to make two saves in the first 45 minutes of action. 

The match would remain scoreless up until the 72nd minute of play as the Saints would break through. The Rangers would scramble to find an answer, with the best chance coming in the 83rd minute on a Chris Estrada shot that would force the Saints goalkeeper to make a tough save. Parkside would be unable to find the equalizer and fall 1-0.
