DETROIT, Mich. -- The Parkside women's basketball team returned to action on Saturday afternoon. The Rangers entered the match-up after their first conference loss of the season to Saginaw Valley State just two days ago. In the face of adversity, the Rangers put on an offensive clinic in an impressive bounce back victory over Wayne State, 95-59.
"Big win at Wayne State! I was really pleased with how we bounced back after our loss against SVSU. I thought we really turned up the intensity on defense and that helped us get going offensively. We shared the ball really well- it was great to see. Looking forward to being back in DeSimone on Monday," said head coach

Inside the Box Score
- The Rangers had five players reach double figures in Flauger, Lomen, Loiz, Zeiter, and Van Zeeland. It's the first time Parkside has had five players score in double digits since December 31, 2022 against UMSL.
- Grace Lomen scored a season high 18 points in the victory. The sophomore filled the stat column as well with six rebounds, three steals, and three assists.
- Sherdian Flauger also posted 18 points on the afternoon. The guard shot 4-9 from deep and dished out four assists.
- Parkside put up a season high 25 assists. It's the most assists the Rangers have accumulated in a game since playing Lake Superior State on February 4, 2022 where they had 27 assists.
How it Happened
The Rangers got off and running in the first quarter. UWP would shoot an impressive 77.8% from the field in the opening quarter of play and would score 33 points.
Grace Lomen would irrupt for 10 of her 18 points in the opening 10 minutes of play. Parkside would enter the second quarter leading 33-16.
The Warriors would respond better offensively in the second quarter, outscoring the Rangers 24-20. The Rangers would still shine in other areas of the game including offensive rebounds and second chance points. On the afternoon the Rangers would offensively out rebound the Warriors 14-9 and would score more second chance points 13-3. The score at the half would sit at 53-40 still in favor of Parkside.
Parkside would slam on the gas petal to open the third quarter, going on a massive 18-3 run.
Sheridan Flauger would find her footing in third period of play, exploding for 10 points and nailing two three pointers. The Rangers would grow their lead to 27 points heading into the fourth quarter leading 77-50.
Firing on all cylinders, Parkside didn't slow down in the fourth quarter. Defensively, the Rangers held the Warriors to shoot just 2-13 in the final quarter of play. The Rangers would outscore the Warriors 18-9, doubling the Warriors score. Parkside would go on to win 95-59.
