Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Despite Palmer’s Career Night, Parkside Falls to Michigan Tech

Kenosha, Wis - In their first home game in 31 days, the Parkside Rangers returned home to take on Michigan Tech. Josiah Palmer posted a career high 29 points, but it was not enough. Parkside shot just 22% from the field, and Parkside fell 78-71.

Inside the box score:

  • Palmer posted 29 points, four rebounds, and three assists in 35 minutes

  • Ethan Ivan posted his first career double-double, logging 12 points and ten rebounds

  • Colin O'Rourke tied a career high with four blocks

How it happened:
From the get-go, Palmer had his shot working. He got Parkside off to a tremendous start, leading Michigan Tech 12-2 within the first three minutes. Palmer hit his first two triples and had 10 of Parkside's first 15 points.

Michigan Tech kept themselves within striking distance throughout the half, never falling behind more than the initial 10. Ethan Ivan and Colin O'Rourke hit shots in the first half to keep Parkside ahead. Nick Brown got De Simone Arena rocking with a big dunk in transition as the half progressed.

Palmer wrapped up his big half with a short jumper that put his total up to 17 in the first half. Parkside held Michigan Tech's leading scorer to just four points in the first half, and Parkside shot 50% as a team.

Parkside's offense went silent in the second half. They began the half shooting 1-21 through the first ten minutes of the final half. Meanwhile, Michigan Tech shot 50% from the field and 40% from three-point range in the second half alone. The team saw Marcus Tomashek score 28 second half points. O'Rourke and Rokas Castillo both hit late triples but the effort was not enough.
