KENOSHA, Wis. --- The Parkside volleyball team opened the home portion of the 2023 schedule in style on Thursday night, sweeping the Truman State Bulldogs 3-0. The match was also the first of twelve matches featured in the 2023 Hampton Invitational.

Parkside had ten total blocks as a team, led by Mariena Coon with five.
Parkside grabbed the momentum early in set one, ripping off an 11-2 run to jump out to a 11-4 advantage. Ava Irvin had multiple kills during the run. Irvin had a team high four kills in the opening set.
Truman State was able to claw back to tie the set at 15, but the Rangers were able to rip off another 9-2 run to pull away. Irvin recorded the final point of the 25-19 set one victory on a kill.
Set two was much like set one with the Rangers going on an early 9-1 run. Lois put an exclamation on the run with an ace.
The Rangers built their lead out to double digits in the set, winning set two 25-14.
The Bulldogs looked to rally in set three when they grabbed a quick 13-7 lead. However Parkside had another run in them, using two kills by Krznarich and four total blocks to grab the lead back at 16-15.
Parkside never looked back, finishing off the three set sweep on a kill by Krznarich.
The Rangers will have two matches on day two of the Hampton Inn Invitational. Parkside will open the day at 11:00am against Westminster College.
