HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers and Cardinals battled for all 90 minutes of the match. The Rangers had several opportunities early in the first half after winning a handful of corner kicks early in the first half. The Cardinals had several chances in the first half that would be spoiled by senior goalkeeper Izzy Guyer. The Ranger defense hung tough and weathered the first half storm the Cardinals brewed after facing nine shots.
The second half opened with a SVSU goal just eight minutes into the new half of play, putting them up 0-1. The Rangers would spend the rest of the second half searching for the equalizer. The best chance came from the boot of Kate Brown in the 64th minute, but the ball soared over the bar. The score would remain the same for the rest of the match.
The Rangers will remain at home this Sunday as they play host to the Ferris State Bulldogs. The match will be a part of First Responders Day. The GLIAC match is set to kickoff at noon central time. Coverage, tickets, and more can be found on parksiderangers.com.
