KENOSHA, Wis. – The Parkside volleyball team returns to De Simone Arena this weekend for two GLIAC matches, beginning on Friday night against Michigan Tech. Parkside will then close out the weekend on Saturday afternoon hosting Northern Michigan. Saturday will also be Alumni Day for Parkside, with the postgame party being hosted at Oakfire Pizza.

About the Rangers
Parkside returns to De Simone Arena after spending the opening weekend of conference play on the road in Michigan. The Rangers are off to a 3-1 start at home this season, winning two of those three matches in four sets. The Parkside defense has been strong this season, ranking second in the GLIAC where the Rangers have limited opponents to just a .159 hitting percentage. The Parkside attack is led by
Ava Irvin, who is averaging 3.40 points per set. The Ranger offense runs through
Karlee Lois, who has eight double-doubles this season.
Mariena Coon has been stellar on offense as well, ranking 16
th nationally with a .405 hitting percentage.
About the Huskies
The Michigan Tech Huskies come into the weekend 3-7 overall and 1-1 in GLIAC play. The Huskies split the opening weekend of GLIAC play, defeating Grand Valley State 3-0 before falling to Davenport by the same result. Kaycee Meiners leads the GLIAC in total blocks, and Lindy Oujri ranks second in the conference in total kills with 126. The match on Friday night will be just the second true road contest for the Huskies this season.
About the Wildcats
The Northern Michigan Wildcats come into the weekend 2-8 overall and 1-1 in GLIAC play. The Wildcats will take on Purdue Northwest before taking on the Rangers on Saturday afternoon. Northern Michigan opened conference play with a five set win over Davenport, but then fell to Grand Valley State in four sets. Senior Lauren Van Remortel is currently fourth in the GLIAC in assists per set (9.06). Meghan Meyer ranks ninth in the GLIAC in hitting percentage (.342). Like Michigan Tech, this will be just the second true road contest this season for the Wildcats.
